A lot of our clients say that they want to feel like they are inside but outside, but with the protection of a roof in case of inclement weather.
The clear roof marquee panels that D&D Marquees supply are the perfect solution as they bring the outside in. It works especially well to position the clear panels over the reception and bar areas as it gives great views for your guests. If it’s a clear night your guests will find themselves looking out over under a galaxy of stars! Or maybe just a clear gable end to look at a beautiful house and let natural light in, and our clear total vision walling will also provide the same effect.
Fairy light (pea lights) Canopy
We can use fairy lights to really enhance your wedding or event. These are strings of LED fairy lights that we place behind the pleated linings which will transform your marquee from daytime to night time and give a romantic feel to the marquee after dark.
LED Starcloth ceilings
We can provide amazing star cloth ceilings. This is similar to a black stage cloth material but with 1,000's of twinkling little LED lights in the cloth.
The star cloth is supplied with a control panel so you can choose the speed for the lights to twinkle. Usually these are provided over the "entertainment" areas such as the dance floor and the DJ/Band area. When it's time for the disco to start you will feel like you’re dancing under the stars! Amazing!
Mirror Ball/Glitter Ball
A great way of making the disco area more special and fantastic for your first dance. Our motorised rotating mirror ball will set the scene for your first dance and the disco to follow. Supplied with spot lighting to reflect the glitter.
Reveal Curtain
A reveal curtain is an excellent way of screening off the entertainment area during the day and will close off the dance floor and DJ/band area (which can be set up hidden from your guests).
This will leave some excitement for what is behind the curtain for the evening entertainment and can be easily lifted by pulling a cord, and "reveal" the dance floor and band/DJ area which is normally all blacked out with star cloth ceilings. This way the marquee can open up and increase in size as the day goes along and provides a “wow” factor for the evening celebrations.
Festoon Lights
Why not make a feature of your garden with our festoon lighting?
The festoon lights can be hung up and strung from tree to tree to light up your garden or to light up the pathway to the marquee.
LED Up lighting/ Wall Washers
We can provide LED up lights that literately "wash" the walls of the marquee with colour after dark.
We normally recommend that these are placed at every 3m interval. The lights are then set to your chosen colour and are all linked together. The more lighting you have the better the effect you will get after dark, we normally recommend 10 to 20 lights for an average size marquee, or you may just wish to have a few dotted about in the bar/reception area or in a entrance porch.
Paper Lantern Decoration and Lighting
Paper lanterns are becoming more popular in marquees today. They can be hung from the ceilings randomly around the marquee, some with lights inside and some without.
You can have as many or as little as you wish and they can be supplied in any colour or size.
Flood lights for the garden
Why not make a feature of your garden with our flood lights.
If you have any trees that you would like to make a feature we have powerful 150 watt and 400 watt floodlights that can be green, blue or magenta colours to flood colour onto a large tree.
Hard wooden flooring and NEW carpet
Most marquee companies will offer you their basic flooring which will be pre used carpet or matting laid down to the ground or grass.
This finish isn't always suitable and acceptable especially if the marquee is in the winter time or on a field or if you want to simply create the best finish possible for your event. We can build a solid wooden sub floor which then a new coloured carpet (usually cream) can be laid to. This will give you a firm sold base to put your furniture and equipment on so they don't sink into the ground, it will also protect you against any wet and damp weather as you will raised off the ground.
Pin spot lighting
We can provide banks of pin spot lighting instead of chandelier lighting if you want something different.
These can positioned so they direct lighting into certain areas of the marquee or onto the tables and centre places, as well as bar areas or to highlight flower displays etc.
Like the Chandelier lighting they can be linked together and supplied with a dimmer control so you can set as you choose.
Generator & Power Package
For most medium and large events you will need to provide power for the caterers, DJ and band, lighting, toilets and bar etc, which can't just be taken from a house socket.
We can provide you with our "power package" which will include a super silent event generator and then all the necessary power distribution, cabling, sockets and set up that you will need for your event.
Solid Glazed entrance doors and entrance porch
A glazed entrance doorway and entrance porch will finish your marquee and also help insulate the structure (crucial if you have heating) and will make the right impression for your guests. Without a glazed doorway the only other opening option would be just a flap opening which you will have to keep opening and closing depending on the weather.
The glazed entrance door frame slots into a special channel on the framework and provides a solid seal. The entrance porch also gives you a covered area before you enter the main marquee area and is a space where you can have a line up or a table plan.
Toilet Marquee/Cloakroom and makeup area
Normally toilet units are delivered and positioned next to a marquee near the entrance so the guests can easily access them, but we can also provide another marquee to house the toilet unit, so it is connected to the main marquee, this way your guests don't have to venture outside. This bespoke marquee can also be fitted with linings, carpet, lighting and heating so it is the same spec as the main marquee.
We have built a bespoke marquee with an extra eave height to accommodate a toilet unit which gives enough space for the toilet unit and an area for some makeup tables and even a cloak rail. This is then attached and connected to the main marquee structure with a baffle screen or doorway.
Luxury Toilet units
We can supply luxury trailer toilet units for your event. We can offer two sizes:
The ‘2+1’ which comes with two ladies cubicles and one gents, along with two gents urinals. We recommend this unit for up to 150 guests.
The ‘3+1’ which comes with three ladies and two gents cubicles along with three gents urinals. We recommend this unit for up to 250 guests
Outdoor flooring/pathways
We can provide anti-slip outdoor plastic tiles that your guests can walk on for entrance areas or to lead to a toilet unit for example. If the ground is soft or wet this will stop shoes becoming muddy and heels sinking into the ground.
Our "Event Floor" can be clicked together to make any size pathway around flower beds and trees and it has little holes inside
so any rain water soaks away quickly. This is a much safer option than putting carpet or matting laid to the grass outside which would stay wet and be dangerous if it rains.
Trackways/Access Roadways
For events that are planned in fields especially out of season you must consider putting an access roadway in so the marquee and other equipment and suppliers can access the site, otherwise vehicles will get stuck and access points near gates willbecome unusable. Access considerations also need to be made for your guests on the day of the event.
We can provide a solid roadway for access which can take the weight of up to an 18 tonne commercial vehicle so access for the toilets and generator won’t be a problem. Normally a 4 metre roadway from the nearest access point will be laid with a "pad" area near the marquee for suppliers and caterers to park on the day of the event and turn around.
Kitchen/Caterers Tent
For most events that have catering, the caterers will require their own separate kitchen/catering annex attached to the main marquee for them to prepare food in and store their equipment all "back of house"
We normally provide a separate kitchen tent attached to the main marquee with baffle screening so your guests can't see into the kitchen, but the waiters and waitresses can access the dining area of the main marquee.
Normally the kitchen tent is supplied with solid floor so the caterers can wheel equipment around comfortably and fluorescent strip lighting is provided.
